Keys to the safe, deposit box and cellar: where they are, so no one drills the locks

A home safe, a bank safe deposit box, a cellar, a garage, an allotment shed: each has its own key or code. If you're the only person who knows where the spare key is, your family may have to call a locksmith while you're away. Drilling a safe costs money, and with a bank box there's paperwork on top.

What to write down

  • where the keys are, for example “spare safe key in the toolbox”,
  • how to get into the deposit box, for example “box key in the blue folder, Bank X”.

You don't need to list what's inside. A map that opens the right doors when needed is enough. If a lock has a code, you can write it down or just leave a hint your family will understand.

In the app: Home and Living Arrangements, then Others.
