Accounts are easy to open and rarely closed. Over the years you collect an old student account, a savings account opened for a bonus rate, an account abroad. You know they exist. At a hard moment your family may not, especially the foreign ones.
In one note, write down
- the country and the bank name,
- the type of account: personal, joint, business,
- the account number and sort code if you like (they don't give anyone access to the money).
No balances and no passwords. The point is only that the account exists and which bank holds it. Your family will sort out the rest with the bank, using the death certificate and probate papers.
The list helps you too: it's easier to spot the accounts you don't need any more.
In the app: Banks and Financial Institutions, then Bank Accounts. The note stays on your phone and in your own backup, not on our server.
