I am restoring my LegacyApp notes from my backup but I don't remember which email or password I used

Not sure which email you used?

If you can't remember which email address you set up LegacyApp with, you can find it in a minute.

How to find your email
Search your main email accounts for a message from notify@legacy.app. If you find emails from that address, that's the account you used for LegacyApp.

You don't need a password: just use the Magic Link

Once you know your email - especially after installing LegacyApp on a new device - you no longer need a password. LegacyApp uses a Magic Link login: enter the same email you used before, and the app recognises you and sends you a one-time link to sign in.

In short

Find your email by searching for messages from notify@legacy.app. Then enter that email, click the Magic Link we send you, and restore your notes from the "Backups" section. You'll need your Encryption Key to restore - the app shows the hint you set earlier.

How to restore your backup: step by step

1 Install LegacyApp
Download the app on your new device.
2 Enter your email address
Use the same email you previously used in LegacyApp (the one you found above, with messages from notify@legacy.app).
3 Get your Magic Link
LegacyApp sends you an email with a unique Magic Link. Click it to log in, no password needed.
4 Restore your backup
Go to the "Backups" section and choose the backup you want to restore. You'll be asked for your Encryption Key - and you'll see the hint you set earlier to help you remember it. Done - your notes are back.
