How are you able to offer LegacyApp for free? Do you sell my data to third parties?
Short answer: we can't sell your data, because we can't see it
We can offer LegacyApp as a freemium product because the service is fully automated, and the notes and data you store in the app (including photos and screenshots) are never saved on our servers.
LegacyApp is free because the service is automated and your notes aren't stored on our servers - you keep them, and we have no access to them. That's exactly why we can't sell them to anyone. We keep the app running with occasional ads, which you can turn off on a paid plan.
Where are your notes?
Everything you save in LegacyApp is stored on your own device, and your backup is kept in your personal cloud (Apple iCloud or Google Drive), encrypted with AES-256.
- Your notes live on your device.
- Your backup goes to your own cloud (iCloud or Google Drive), not to us.
- We have no access to the contents of your notes.
- Since we can't access them, we can't sell them to anyone.
So how do we keep it running?
We support the app's development with occasional ads. You can turn them off by switching to a paid plan, or by activating a premium code from one of our corporate or charity partners.
